ADVANCED FRACTIONAL RESURFACING · ARNPRIOR, ONTARIO

CO₂ Laser Resurfacing Near Ottawa

Advanced fractional CO₂ resurfacing for acne scars, deeper wrinkles, sun damage and uneven skin texture.

Treatment intensity is customized according to your skin, your goals and the amount of recovery that is appropriate for you.

The short answer

CO2 is the strongest resurfacing we offer, and the one worth the recovery when the concern is indented acne scarring or lines that lighter lasers cannot reach. It treats the skin in microscopic columns and leaves intact tissue between them, so healing is measured in days. Numbing and a cooling fan run throughout.

Why Clients Travel From Ottawa for CO₂ Resurfacing

We will tell you if CO₂ is not right for you

Your consultation determines whether CO₂ is appropriate, or whether a lower-downtime resurfacing treatment would achieve the goal more appropriately.

You are not limited to one resurfacing laser

Because we work with multiple resurfacing platforms, treatment can be selected according to your skin, concern and recovery tolerance rather than the limitations of one device.

Your skin is prepared before it is treated

More intensive resurfacing may require preparation before treatment. Pigmentation history, skincare, previous procedures and healing risk are considered before treatment begins.

We stay with you through the healing, not just the appointment

Your care continues after the procedure with clear post-treatment instructions, follow-up and guidance through the recovery period.

Before the Laser

Why We Condition Your Skin Before CO₂ Resurfacing

CO₂ resurfacing creates a deliberate, controlled treatment response in the skin. Before we perform a more intensive laser procedure, we want to understand how your skin behaves, not simply what it looks like on treatment day. Preparation gives us time to assess pigment risk, strengthen your home-care routine and plan your recovery before the laser is ever turned on.

01

Stabilize the Skin

We look for active irritation, recent sun exposure, barrier disruption and pigmentation patterns that may influence how aggressively your skin should be treated.

02

Prepare for Recovery

Your skincare plan is adjusted before treatment so that you already know what to use, what to pause and how your post-laser recovery will be supported.

03

Treat More Intentionally

Preparation gives us a clearer picture of your baseline skin and helps determine whether CO₂, and what level of CO₂, is actually appropriate for your goals.

What do we assess before CO₂ resurfacing?
We review your pigmentation history, recent sun exposure, current skincare, active inflammation, previous treatments, healing history and overall skin barrier. VISIA imaging may also help identify pigment and vascular changes that are not as obvious in normal lighting.
Does everyone follow the same skin-preparation routine?
No. Preparation is individualized. Some clients may need several weeks of targeted skincare before treatment, while others may require changes to products they are already using. Your preparation period is based on your skin, treatment intensity and pigmentation history.
What if your skin is not ready on treatment day?
We may postpone treatment rather than perform an intensive resurfacing procedure on skin that is actively irritated, recently sun-exposed or otherwise not in an appropriate condition for treatment. The goal is not to reach the laser as quickly as possible. It is to treat at the right time.
Are the preparation and recovery products extra?
No. Your prescribed pre-treatment skin preparation products and post-treatment recovery products are included in your Arnprior Med Spa CO₂ treatment price.

Frequently Asked Questions

CO2 laser resurfacing is an ablative treatment that removes damaged surface layers of skin while heating the deeper dermis to trigger collagen remodelling.

We use the fractional Lutronic eCO2, which treats microscopic columns of skin rather than the whole surface, leaving intact tissue between the columns so healing is faster than with older full-field CO2 lasers.

It is the strongest correction we offer for acne scars, deep wrinkles and advanced sun damage, and it works structurally rather than superficially: it rebuilds the skin rather than polishing it.

Light to medium settings involve three to five days of redness, swelling and peeling. High intensity involves five to ten days.

Swelling peaks on days one and two, peeling starts around day three, and most clients are comfortable back at work with tinted SPF by day five. Residual pinkness fades over the following two to three weeks.

If you can’t take a week, ask about the light-to-medium series of three, where each recovery is only a few days.

Many concerns improve substantially after a single treatment, and that’s what makes CO2 different from lighter lasers. Moderate to severe acne scarring usually needs two or three sessions spaced eight to twelve weeks apart. If you’d rather keep downtime short, we can break the same correction into a series of three lower-intensity sessions instead.

We assess with VISIA imaging and tell you honestly at consultation whether one session will be enough for what you want to change.

Laser resurfacing builds collagen and improves fine lines, but long-term results require a multi-pronged approach.

Our clients maintain a custom skincare routine, regularly get Botox, and incorporate biostimulators to keep their skin firm and resilient.

No single treatment prevents wrinkles entirely, but prioritizing skin health is the most effective way to minimize signs of aging.

Laser resurfacing is one of the most versatile treatments we offer. It improves skin texture, tone, pigmentation, fine lines, and scars, all while strengthening overall skin health.

Fractional resurfacing can improve visible photoaging, uneven texture, selected pigmentation concerns, fine lines and acne scarring. The treatment plan and intensity are selected according to the specific concern being treated.

Topical numbing is applied for 60 minutes beforehand and a Zimmer cooling fan runs throughout, so most clients find the treatment intense but manageable.

Comfort options, including topical anaesthetic, cooling and PRO-NOX when appropriate, may be incorporated into your treatment plan. We review the comfort strategy and your specific post-treatment instructions before the procedure so you know what to expect during treatment and before leaving the clinic.

Expect a hot prickling sensation rather than sharp pain. Afterwards the skin stays hot and tight for several hours, much like a strong sunburn, and settles overnight.

Your skin will look smoother and more even as soon as it heals, typically within 2-3 weeks. Full collagen remodeling continues over 3 to 6 months, so results will keep improving over time.

Not for the first three days. Use tinted SPF instead. It protects the healing skin and conceals more than you’d expect. From day three you can return to makeup, using clean brushes and fresh product to avoid irritating skin that’s still rebuilding its barrier. Avoid anything with a heavy or drying finish for the first week.

You’ll leave with a written aftercare protocol, a post-procedure kit and scheduled follow-ups through the healing period, so we stay in contact rather than sending you home to guess.

The essentials: keep the skin occluded and moist, don’t let it dry out and crust, and never pick or peel flaking skin. Picking is the single most common cause of scarring after resurfacing, and skin at this stage is genuinely vulnerable.

Broad-spectrum SPF every day for at least three months afterwards is non-negotiable. New skin burns easily and sun exposure undoes the pigment work you just paid for.

Yes, and it’s one of the most effective options available for this area. The laser removes damaged surface skin while triggering collagen remodelling underneath, which tightens crepey texture and smooths fine lines on eyelid skin too thin for most other treatments.

Strengthening the skin here also improves the look of dark circles, since some of that shadowing comes from thin skin and excess pigment rather than hollowing. See the under-eye before-and-afters above for our own results.

Yes. CO2 is the most effective treatment we offer for indented acne scarring, and it is particularly strong on boxcar and rolling scars. By removing damaged surface tissue and stimulating collagen in the scar base, it lifts depressed scars and evens the texture around them.

Some scars need more than CO2 alone: narrow ice-pick scars and tethered scarring often respond better to CO2 combined with RF microneedling, and post-inflammatory pigmentation left behind by acne is a different problem that we treat separately.

Most clients see significant improvement after one session, with two or three needed for more advanced scarring. We’ll tell you at consultation which category your scarring falls into and what a realistic outcome looks like.

CO₂ is our most intensive resurfacing option and may be considered when the priority is deeper correction of wrinkles, advanced textural damage, photoaging or selected acne scars.

For early fine lines, superficial pigmentation or visible sun damage, a lower-downtime fractional treatment such as LaseMD Ultra may be more appropriate.

When deeper fractional remodelling and textural improvement are the priority, Mosaic 3D may be considered.

For more intensive correction of deeper wrinkles, advanced photoaging and selected acne scars, CO₂ may be appropriate.

Your consultation determines which resurfacing technology and treatment intensity best match your skin, goals and recovery tolerance.

October through March. Sun exposure is the biggest threat to both your healing and your result, and an Ontario winter makes strict SPF and sun avoidance far easier than July does.

We treat year-round with careful sun protection, but if you have the choice, book the cooler months.

Also leave at least six weeks, ideally eight, between treatment and any wedding, photographs or holiday.

Not automatically, and we’d rather say so. Ablative CO2 carries a higher risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation in higher Fitzpatrick skin types, so candidacy is assessed carefully rather than assumed. In many cases we pre-condition the skin with ZO Skin Health products for several weeks first, adjust density and depth, and test-patch before treating.

Sometimes we recommend a different modality altogether, such as a non-ablative or fractional approach that reaches a similar goal with less pigment risk. That decision is made at consultation, never at booking.

Arnprior Med Spa is at 43 Madawaska Street in Arnprior, Ontario, just off Highway 417, roughly 35 minutes from Kanata and west Ottawa, 25 minutes from Carleton Place, and an easy drive from Renfrew, Pembroke, Petawawa, Pakenham and Almonte.

Plenty of clinics own a CO2 laser. Clients drive out from the city for how the treatment is run: skin properly conditioned in the weeks beforehand so it heals well and holds the result, one nurse who knows your plan from consultation through the last follow-up, and a single-treatment-room clinic where nobody is rushing you or working to a schedule.

It’s quiet, unhurried and thorough, closer to a proper medical appointment than a spa visit. Free parking at the door.

For clients travelling from the Upper Ottawa Valley, including Pembroke and Petawawa, Arnprior Med Spa provides consultation-led CO₂ resurfacing with the pre-treatment skin preparation and post-treatment recovery products included in the treatment plan. Candidacy, treatment intensity, expected recovery and travel considerations are reviewed before treatment so you know exactly what to expect before making the trip.
